A New Season Has Begun

For better or worse, Labor Day has always managed to mark some sort of personal transition in my life. The holiday, personally, far exceeds the usual melancholy of bidding farewell to sandy toes and rooftop cocktails, it has always provided an ending to one thing and the promise of a new beginning. This year is no different. As we all collectively stand on the precipice of bountiful farmers market hauls, the comforting aroma of cracking fire logs, and heavy woolen fisherman knits, it simultaneously feels profoundly bittersweet. One of life’s cruelest truths is that in order for something new to begin, something first must end.

So so long sweet summer, and all the beauty that came before, and hello to a new season and all the beauty that is, hopefully, to come.
