happy 2018, dear friends! we are officially one week into a new year and at the risk of sounding trite, i am blissfully seduced by the idea of a clean slate. and while these subzero temperatures have been putting a bit of a damper on my euphoric good mood, i am still dripping with optimism for what our fresh start has in store for all of us (but that's most likely since 2017 was such abysmal).
i rang in our penultimate year of the decade dashing through the arctic air of lower manhattan, insufficiently dressed in my grandmother's black rabbit fur coat, arm-in-arm with the closest of friends, as the empire state building glittered in the distance. and while, in the wee hours of the morning, i managed to shatter the screen of my iphone, (which i choose to attribute to lazily frozen appendages rather than a few too many sips of champagne) the night was utter perfection. here is where my head is as we embark on this new journey;
drooling over:
the black gowns of last nights golden globe awards. isn't it marvelous when protests are both visually, and intellectually, stimulating? (my favorites: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 ) also where does one apply to be seth meyer's campaign manager for his 2020 presidential run? Inquiring minds would like to know...
shopping for:
a new iphone case. since my NYE mishap caused me to be separated from my microchipped sidekick for twelve hours, and since the apple store genius bar, the day after a notoriously rambunctious holiday, is busier than citerella the day before a nor'easter, i'm taking precautions in the new year. suggestions greatly appreciated
reading:
town & country's list of the 50 nice guy bachelors, because, as holly golightly would say, "it's important to keep track of these things".
lusting after:
a casamigos margarita, pink sand beaches, and this dodo bar bo miranda dress.
happy monday darlings, stay warm!
